More than compliance, to the letter, with religious and moral laws, Jesus wants us to go further.into the spirit of the law. That is, live and practice them out of conviction, from our will and free will. From our hearts.
Because Jesus Christ is the fullness of God's revelation and in the mission of saving humanity and leading it to the fullness of eternal life, he wants to give fullness to the law of love.
It is not enough to comply with the commandments and stop doing what is forbidden. It is also necessary to walk in a process of constant improvement and improvement. To stop in this sense is to go backwards.
Our love for God is sincere only if it leads us to truly love our neighbor and to see and treat each other as brothers. Our offering to Him is not pleasant if we remain at enmity.
