Reflection of the Word of God, January 30th, 2022

The prophet Jeremiah tells us how the Lord revealed to him that he had chosen him to be a prophet, and how he made him understand that his vocation would encounter opposition and hostility from many.

Jesus also encountered similar opposition and hostility within his own people of Nazareth, so he resolved to go preach the Good News to other villages, since his own relatives and countrymen rejected him. Saint Paul reminds the faithful of the Church of Corinth that, among the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, the latter is the greatest of all and the golden law of the coexistence of believers in the ecclesial community.

Our own mission and vocation is to live precisely the mandate of love that Jesus entrusted to us, although many times we are also misunderstood, or rejected and even persecuted... if we persevere in it we will be blessed at the moment of truth, since we enjoy the promise of our teacher who guarantees us the assistance and strength of his Spirit.
