THE SIGN OF FORGIVENESS. "Neither do I condemn you."

Fr. Claudio

The encounter with God is closeness that heals, forgives and liberates. In the woman who is the protagonist of today's Gospel, the forgiveness that Jesus grants her also gives her the freedom and confidence to live in a different way. She released from the death penalty she begins a new life.

Jesus, the God who saves, exercises mercy on her in a consummate and total love. He is not concerned with condemning or finding guilty, nor with punishing.

Any religion that demands the death penalty for sins ceases to be true religion... since God does not want the death of the sinner, but rather that he convert and live. Neither do we, since we are all sinners, dare to condemn anyone.
