WHAT IS THE EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE?

sandraalvaradocsm

It is about examining our conscience in prayer before God. " Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions. Thoroughly wash away my guilt" (Ps 51, 3-4). Blame seriously and then go to confession with full confidence in God's forgiveness.

It is very helpful to examine your conscience frequently and also, in all humility, to recognize that we need to confess. "If we examined ourselves, we would not be judged." (1 Cor. 11:31) You can do it in a quiet place, preferably in front of the tabernacle, to pray.

God is a loving Father who makes us see sin to give us the grace of repentance and forgiveness. He wants us free. "May you hear the voice of the Lord today, do not harden his heart (Heb 3: 7-8). For this reason, after examination of conscience and confession we must make a firm resolution not to sin again.
