Ash Wednesday

On February 26, 2020 we will celebrate Ash Wednesday. Why is this day so important and why do so many people come to the Church? With the imposition of ashes, a very important spiritual stage begins for every Catholic who wants to prepare himself through penance and interior renewal, to celebrate the Passover of the Lord. The resurrection of Christ is God's victory over sin and we must aspire to it as the center of our faith because "If Christ did not rise, our preaching is futile and your faith is also useless." (1 Cor 15, 13-14)

With Ash Wednesday we begin Lent. This special time to hear the voice of God calling us to conversion. A time dedicated to review and change our life, to renew it, to transform it more deeply. Conversion is to return to God, to return to Him because we have moved away. All of us who receive the ash will listen to the Church's exhortation: "Repent and believe in the Gospel" and, with the expression "Remember that you are dust and you will return to dust". We are invited to reflect on the duty of conversion, reminding us the expiration and fragility of our life.
