OCTOBER, MONTH OF THE ROSARY

Church has dedicated the month of October to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary with the recitation of the Rosary. In a special way on October 7, we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary; festivity that reminds us of the story of a powerful intervention by the Mother of God.

It is a good time to learn to pray the Rosary. Here in San Mateo, we are invited to meditate on the most important episodes in the life of Jesus Christ, by reciting a mystery of the Rosary before starting Mass.

Through the Rosary we learn to know the Virgin Mary more and to feel her closer to us. We make her our intercessor before her Son and before God the Father. She brings us closer to Jesus and makes him present in our lives.

We know people who are discreetly praying her rosary on their way to work or school. There are also families who pray it together and remind us of the motto "The family that prays together, stays together."
