Throughout Easter time we have listened to the episodes of the appearances of the risen Jesus to his disciples. Everyone agrees in this event as something true, Jesus is the same who died on the cross, bearing the marks of the nails in the hands and feet, and on his side the wound of the spear. However, there is also something different about him, something that the disciples themselves do not know how to describe and at first, they are not able to recognize that it is the same Jesus. So He comes and sits down to eat with them, asks them to share their bread, their fish with him. A spirit does not eat or drink as he does (Lk 24,36-43).
The resurrection of Jesus is so important that without it our faith would be meaningless, our hope would be in vain. This is what Saint Paul expressed in the first Letter to the Corinthians: “Now, if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how do some of you say that there is no resurrection? If there is no resurrection, then not even Christ has risen. And if Christ is not risen, our preaching is useless, as is your faith. " (1 Cor 15.12-14).
