Mary of Magdala, a sinner forgiven and healed by Jesus, dedicated herself to serving with all her love. When the Apostles fled, she stood firm at the foot of the Lord's cross, together with the Blessed Virgin, John and some other women. Jesus rewarded her Magdalene's faithfulness by appearing to her especially on Easter Sunday morning and commissioning her to convey to her disciples the message of his resurrection. She was the "Apostle to the Apostles" and became an important person in the early Church and probably also supported the ministry of Jesus and the Twelve with material resources.
May her intercession help us to recognize and value the important role of women in the mission and in the life of the Church.
