The responses during the celebration of the Mass

sandraalvaradocsm

We respond because the Mass is prayer. Prayer is a dialogue to present ourselves before the Lord, ask for forgiveness, listen to His Word, receive Him in communion, praise Him, and thank Him with all our hearts. All this, and much more, throughout the Eucharist.

To live our relationship with God more and more fully, it is good to know how to respond during the celebration of Holy Mass and understand its meaning. The phrases we pronounce will unite with the priest and the people and we offer them to the Lord.

Christ, when called his disciples, calls them to be with him. This is the blessing, to be able to experience that the mass is the moment to be with Jesus, to listen to Him and respond to Him. We have been created to be in a relationship with God and our brothers.

Every response we make throughout the Mass is our participation in approaching the Lord's table wholeheartedly. Being attentive to respond helps us grow in knowledge of the great gift that God has given us in the Eucharist.
