What is Advent?

One of the keywords of this time is “prepare the way for the Lord!” The Lord is on his way. And we, impatient for his coming, also set out to meet him: it is Advent, which we go through in four Sundays.

The First Sunday tells us about the Second Coming of Christ. The Second invites us to listen to John the Baptist. The Third exhorts us to joy because the birth of the Savior is near. And the Fourth Sunday leads us to contemplate the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph as those chosen to form the Holy Family where the Child God will be born.

Let's make a small commitment that fits our life situation and carry it forward to prepare for this Christmas. Let's find a specific thing and do it! May the Virgin, in whose womb God became flesh, help us.
