19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Reflection of the Word of God

Today's Gospel presents us with three moments of Jesus: dismissing the crowd; praying; and, walking on the waters to be with his disciples. The three moments strengthen our confidence in Jesus: in them we discover that the Lord nourishes our body with bread and nourishes our Spirit with prayer and his word that invites tranquility: " Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid!"

In the times we live in, of crisis of faith and health, we too can feel the temptation of fear and pessimism, unable to see Jesus walking in the midst of adversity. It is important that we know how to perceive the voice of Jesus that encourages us and invites us to dispel fear.

"Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you" Today we ask Jesus to do everything we do with a faith confident in his Word, because by faith we know that he reaches out to us and prevents us from sinking, teaching us to trust Him, and not our own strength. Only in this way can we also walk on adversity and achieve the peace that only Jesus can give us.
