Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. We contemplate the immense love of God reflected in the unbelief of the Apostle St. Thomas. His lack of faith leads him to reintegrate with his brothers and sisters to have a personal encounter with the Risen Christ, whom he recognizes by the wounds on his hands and in his side.

Finally, in the face of the evidence of the resurrection, he proclaims with profound faith: My Lord and my God! Thomas' doubt invites us to reflect on our own faith. He reminds us to keep in communion with our brothers and sisters and seek a personal encounter with the Risen Lord so that our faith does not waver. Being a believer is more than accepting a teaching, it is living the interior experience with Christ alive and present in the Church and in our lives. The Risen Jesus continues to make himself present in the midst of our unbelief and doubts. There is no barrier that His mercy cannot cross.
