It is very clear from this Sunday's readings that the Holy Spirit who assists the ecclesial community is the final fruit of Easter. He appears, in the First Reading, guiding the Christian community and inspiring discernment and decision on questions that provoked conflict among the newly converted (Council of Jerusalem).

The second reading is a part of the revelation that the Apostle John receives about the presence of God in the Church, by his Spirit. The Light of the New Jerusalem is the Risen Lord Himself. We are called to partake of that Light through the Spirit we receive to share with others.

The Gospel makes us see that those who love Jesus will keep his words by putting them into practice. That will be the condition for the Father to send the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. They in turn will be the dwelling place and Temple of God, one and triune.
