How is the Catechesis Course at St. Matthew's Cathedral?

Catechism classes in our community are based on two fundamental pillars: The Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We teach and share the Catholic faith illuminated by Christian ecumenism, in order to prepare children. Youth and adults to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Communion, Confirmation and Reconciliation.

The catechesis course at San Mateo is an intensive course, which responds to the reality and needs of our Hispanic community in Houston. Classes are in English and Spanish. We make use of audiovisual and printed resources to explain the topics, and we celebrate the Eucharist as part of the formation of the students, helping them to know and understand the signs and actions that are carried out during the celebration of Mass.

For more than 25 years we have sown the seed of faith in the hearts of many generations, trusting that God will germinate that seed and bear fruit in due time in those who let it grow in their lives.
