ON THE THIRD DAY, JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD…

It is the central truth of the Christian faith, which affirms that Jesus, after actually dying and being buried on Friday, came back to life by the power of God on the first day of the week (Sunday). It signifies the ultimate victory over death and sin. It is the fulfillment of prophecies and the opening of eternal life for mankind. Historically and theologically, it represents a proven real fact, where the body of Jesus was glorified.

It is the culmination of the Christian faith; without it, our preaching the faith and would be in vain.

"On the Third Day": Based on the Jewish inclusive count (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), it indicates the fullness and action of God in time. This proves that Jesus is the Lord of time, fulfilling Scripture and showing His triumph over sin and death.

"From the Dead": Emphasizes that it was not a temporary reanimation, but a resurrection to a glorified and eternal life.

It is the proclamation and celebration that Jesus is alive and his sacrifice brought salvation. Jesus foretold His death and resurrection several times in the Gospels and it is mentioned that it was according to Scripture (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
