Lent is usually related to the desert. However, this Sunday's readings show us how this time of preparation for Easter also speaks to us of unexpected or unthinkable springs.

From the rock struck by Moses, which we hear in the first reading, to Jesus' intimate dialogue with the Samaritan woman in the Gospel.

And together with St. Paul we discover that the initiative of salvation is always God's. Therefore, it is worth asking ourselves: Are we aware that God's unconditional love justifies us, beautifies us interiorly and gives us the courage to abandon our old patterns of conduct and be reborn new ones by the water of baptism and the Holy Spirit?
