THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED

It is celebrated every November 2 in the Catholic Church and in other Christian traditions to remember and pray for loved ones and all souls who have left earthly life, especially those who are in Purgatory in the process of purification. It is not a celebration of desperate mourning, but an expression of faith in the resurrection and of fraternal love. Through suffrages, souls are helped to attain the beatific vision of God.

It is recommended: Attend Holy Mass, offer intentions for the deceased; visit cemeteries to arrange graves, bring flowers. Pray the Holy Rosary and prayers of intercession or novenas...
