The example of a grateful foreigner

Naaman, a general of the Syrian army, a foreigner and an enemy of Israel, had come to ask the prophet Elisha to cure him of leprosy in the name of the God of Israel. When he felt healed, he was filled with gratitude and promised to honor the God of Israel.

On the other hand, today's Gospel speaks to us of another example of gratitude. When Jesus healed ten lepers, he ordered them to comply with the law's command to make it clear to the community that they were healthy and could return to normal coexistence with everyone. They went even before being healed, trusting in His word and indeed they were healed, but they forgot something essential, "to give thanks to the one who healed them", only a Samaritan (from whom they least expected) was able to interrupt his path and return to give thanks.

In need, we all want help... and if we do receive it, the least we can do in response is to be grateful. Let's review our personal and family situation today. Is there anything for which we should thank God?
