What does God’s tell us this Sunday? SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2024

The biblical texts proposed to us by the liturgy of this Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time reveal to us a generous God, who does not discriminate or exclude, but who pours out his grace and his Spirit on everyone, without distinction.

The first reading, from the book of Numbers, tells us about Eldad and Medad who, filled with the Spirit of God, prophesy in the camp of the Israelites. Joshua asks that they be arrested... but Moses replies that he wishes that all the people would receive, like Eldad and Medad, the Spirit of the Lord and all be prophets.

Also in the Gospel text, referring to a stranger who cast out demons "in the name of Jesus", the Master commands his Apostles who want to stop him: "Do not detain those who act in my name".

This Sunday, the message is: Let us discover the power of the Holy Spirit who acts beyond the borders and limits that men seek to impose.
