What does God’s tell us this Sunday?Sixth Sunday of Easter

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Jesus will no longer be with his disciples, they will have to act and decide on their own; but there is nothing to worry about, because they will have the sure assistance of the Holy Spirit; He who will be in charge of reminding them of everything and will be aware of the needs of the disciples. In the world, Christians will be recognized, not by the name they have received, but because they fulfill the commandment to love one another. It is this power of love that will hold you together not only with each other, but also with the Father, who will manifest himself in those who love him.

Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit, who will make us see what we must do, to love God and our neighbor, and who will give us the strength to do it. Let us ask Jesus present here to give us the Spirit of inner perception and strength. Only in this way, as the second reading says, will we always be fully ready to give to those who ask for them, the reasons for our hope.
