COMMEMORATION OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED

The Church gives prominence to this commemoration of all the faithful departed for the following reasons:

Because the faithful departed are also Church, members of the Mystical Body of Christ, who have already entered that world without pain or tears. We remain united to them by our baptismal faith that made us brothers.

Because they have already finished their pilgrimage through this world and sowed in our favor the best they had, and it is natural that we give thanks for their life and the time they lived with us...  We pray to God that, in his mercy, he will make them enjoy his eternal glory.

Because they remind us of our Christian vocation, since in the water of baptism we were sacramentally buried to rise to new life... To stop breathing is not to cease to exist.

In short: We die inserted in the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ who died for love of us and conquered death. At the end of our days on earth, God invites us to dwell with Him in His eternal mansion
