The Solemnity of Pentecost is the culmination of the Easter fiftieth anniversary and at the same time reminds us that the Church is born thanks to the Holy Spirit who, with his creative power, renews, recreates and revitalizes the mission of the disciples of Jesus now converted into courageous and enthusiastic apostles and missionaries.

The Christian Pentecost is the paschal gift par excellence, since it is the fulfilment of the promise of the Risen One. It is the new law that the Father and the Son write in the hearts of men to sign the covenant of the new law of divine love, of the new and eternal covenant sealed with the blood of the Lamb.

It is the Holy Spirit who fills the first community of disciples with enthusiasm to convert hearts and begin to form the universal Church of Christ, which is in turn a community of communities spread throughout the earth... to unite men and women of all cultures, of all languages and of all races in the unity of the same love and one faith.
