THE WORD BECAME FLESH
The beginning of the letter to the Hebrews summarizes very well the meaning of the Christmas party: “Many times and in many ways in the past God spoke to our fathers through the prophets. In these last times he has spoken to us through his Son…” (Heb 1,1-2).
The Gospel of John begins with a hymn of deep admiration and joy, because the Son of God made man, the Word, is the same God who enters our history, assuming our human condition and telling us that it is possible to walk according to what he proposes to us However, in full celebration and full of joy, phrases of regret are also heard because "he came to his own and his own did not receive him" (Jn 1,11), thus anticipating what years later, as an adult, it would happen with the preaching of his good news in the midst of his people. Not everyone received it in the same way.
