Reflection of the Word of God, Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2024

The resurrection of Jesus is something that cannot be kept silent, as it represents hope for everyone who suffers and who cannot see beyond the end marked by death.

An empty tomb, the abandoned bandages and shroud were sufficient evidence to rule out the possibility of a robbery, and to remember what Jesus repeatedly told them: “On the third day, I will rise again.” But in order to reach the certainty of this promise and believe that it was so, the first Christians had to go through many doubts. Even the desperate race of Peter and John towards the tomb expresses the search of everyone who wants answers, who wants to prove for themselves that the resurrection is something real.

May the resurrection of Jesus bring us hope in the midst of pessimism, and against those voices that tell us that there is nothing beyond the limit of death. Today is a day to renew our faith in the Resurrection of Christ, which is also our own resurrection.
