REFLECTION OF THE WORD, XXVII, Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today's Gospel account begins similarly to the Song of Isaiah: "A landowner planted a vineyard, protected it with a fence, dug a winepress, and built a tower."
Then comes the decisive moment when the owner entrusts the vineyard to some farmers and leaves. The loyalty of the farmers is tested: they have been entrusted with the vineyard; after the harvest they must hand over the harvest to the owner.
The Gospel passage invites us to reflect on our responsibilities and talents that each one of us receives from God, as a gift and as a task... If we are possessive, if we believe we are owners, or if we lose sight of the fact that the only Owner is the Lord.
