A Spiritual Communion is a religious practice that became popular especially during and after the COVID 19 pandemic, when many parishioners could not attend Mass in person and participated in the Eucharist and other religious celebrations virtually.
Spiritual communion is for those people who have not made their first communion, or who, due to some problem of conscience, are not able to come to receive communion with the Body and Blood of Christ. So that, in this way, they are always ready to receive the Bread of the Word and the blessings of God, trying to prepare themselves and approach sacramental communion (in material form) as soon as possible.
Although spiritual communion is not the same as the real presence of sacramental communion, spiritual communion is a devotion that expresses the deep desire to experience the healing presence of Jesus. And for its full effectiveness, it is necessary to do it with faith and devotion.
