How to do a good Confession

What is confession?

It is the sacrament in which, through the absolution of the priest, we receive forgiveness of our sins if we confess repentant. The Bible says that The Lord Jesus, being with his Apostles: " And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20, 22-23

What grace or favors do you get with confession?

Confession yields three special graces:

1. Gives us back the sanctifying grace: friendship with God.

2. Gives us special forces to avoid sin, to reject temptations.

3. It takes us away from all that is offending God.

What is needed to make a good confession?

1. Preparatory prayer

2. Examination of conscience

3. Repenting of Sins

4. Purpose of amendment

5. Confessing sins

6. Fulfill penance.
